Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park was declared one of the first national parks in Uganda and now spans an area of 3,840 sq. km. It is the largest protected area in the country and lies in the northern section of the Albertine Rift. This is where the Bunyoro Escarpment inclines into the lowland plains.
The Victoria Nile River flows through the middle of the park and falls into Lake Albert, creating a delta. Along the way, the river shoots over Murchison Falls creating the greatest natural force on the planet.
